Henry Wang is a contemporary artist and musician currently based in London.
His practice combines an envisioning of spiritual-landscapes with experimentation in visualizing the non-existent afterlife or utopia, exploring how to present personality traits using a macroscopic view. Working across publication design, digital sculptures, interactive media, illustration, and music production, he creates distinctive perspectives that reflect human personalities into visual and collective experience.

Some Random Thoughts:
I always want to see how afterlife looks like, experienced through the eyes of the dying me. Will I regret the decisions I made? How will others see me as a person? What will I leave behind in this physical world? The visualization of these scenes becomes the work that I create; they are a reflection of the macro-view on my life, and I expect you to look from the same perspective (god mode), in which you may discover an emotional experience that only resonates with you.
When thinking about how to present this, the liminal space between life and being forgotten, I explored the boundaries of materials and mediums. I enjoyed using tech and digital tools, since only they can create the illusional scenes in my mind. Many times, these imaginative things, objects, spaces, scenes, and sounds don’t exist in this physical world. But in my digital wonderland, they can become point clouds, digital sculptures, music tracks, narratives, and virtual environments.
I often get lost in why I am creating: is that to influence the world or others with my ideas, is that a documentation of my life so that if I died there will be something in this world that represents me and my mind, or just simply expressing my struggles with overthinking. I think creating is like standing between two face-to-face mirrors; it can let you see yourself exactly right now, in the past, in the future, distorted… But still, it is this magic of creating that shapes the Henry today and in the future.
